One of up to seven pairs of appendages of pereon. Uniramous, consisting of modified (immovable) coxa (coxal plate) and six free segments (basis, ischium, merus, carpus, propodus, dactylus). Anterior two pairs may be differentiated as gnathopods. (simple, che-late, subchelate; ambulatory, raptorial). (syn. peraeopod, pereiopod, walking leg) [Stachowitsch, 1992]
