Our Home Culture System Kit is designed for live zooplankton such as copepods and rotifers are essential first feeds for many larvae. Secondly, the Aquatic Live Food’s Home Culture System (HCS) will allow hobbyists a home-scale culture of zooplankton which is easy and reliable.

Furthermore, the HCS combines a conveniently sized 20L bucket with custom-made fittings that incorporate an air stone and a particulate waste trap. In addition, aeration provides oxygenation and water circulation that draws particulate wastes into the waste trap (floss).

Weekly maintenance of the culture (aside from feeding and harvesting) requires only 5 minutes to flush the wastes from the trap and wipe the interior surfaces of the bucket. Finally, the HCS is sturdy, easily transported, and includes a flexible cover that isolates the culture from contamination.

PLEASE NOTE:

Finally, it is important to note that your HCS Kit will come in two deliveries. The first delivery will be everything except for the live goods (live food and phytoplankton).

The second delivery will be the live goods approximately 5-7 days later.

We do this so that you have sufficient time to set up the HCS Kit components before the live foods arrive.
