MicroMagic Phyto 7 Species Marine Supreme Mix is a nutritious mixture of seven Live Phytoplankton strains (Nano, Iso, Tet, Dunal, Porph, Spirulina and Thal) that is great for feeding copepods, corals, clams, and other filter-feeding inverts. MicroMagic is a hand selected blend of the most nutritious Live Phytoplankton strains available. This is the same blend we use to feed and cultures of Marine Mix Live Copepods, Calanoid Copepods, Red Copepods etc. in our facility. As a Live product, MicroMagic Phytoplankton will actively seek out and consume Nitrates and Phosphates in your aquarium before they can contribute to nuisance algae growth. This means you get less algae, crystal clear water, more copepods and vibrant coral! Continued use of MicroMagic will also stabilize pH.
What’s In It?
MicroMagic Phyto 7 Species Marine Supreme Mix is a nutritious mixture of seven Live Phytoplankton species:
Nannochloropsis oculata: Non-flagellated Yellow/Green: 1-5 microns
This tiny green algae consumes several nitrogen waste compounds including ammonia, nitrites, and nitrates. As a result, Nano helps if you have an overfeeding problem, if you are adding a new critter to your tank, or if you want to reduce the frequency of water changes.
Tetraselmis sp: Green Biflagellate: 6-10 microns
With a rich and varied amino/ fatty acid profile, Tetraselmis provides a very nutritional feed for your marine life. Large aquaculture facilities commonly use Tetra, due to its high nutritional makeup.
Isochrysis galbana: Brown Biflagellate: 10-14 microns
This complex brown algae is high in DHA and is also often used to enrich zooplankton such as copepods and brine. Dosing your tank with Isochrysis will also boost zooplankton and copepod levels. It will also help with the development, coloration, and resilience of your marine life. Oysters, clams, mussels, and scallops all love Isochrysis!
Dunaliella salina: Halophilic Green Biflagellate: 2-10 microns
This is a type of halophile green micro-algae especially found in sea salt fields. It is known for its antioxidant activity. Due to its ability to create a large number of carotenoids, it is used in cosmetics and dietary supplements.
Porphyridium cruentum: Red Biflagellate: 2-10 microns
The microalga Porphyridium sp. is a potential source for several products like fatty acids, lipids, cell-wall polysaccharides, and pigments. The polysaccharides of this species are sulfated and their structure gives rise to some unique properties that could lead to a broad range of industrial and pharmaceutical applications. Additionally, P. cruentum biomass contains carbohydrates of up to 57%.
Arthrospira platensis (Spirulina): Blue/Green Filament: The filaments are solitary and reproduce by binary fission, and the cells of the trichomes vary from 2 to 12 µm and can sometimes reach 16 µm. Arthrospira is a genus of free-floating filamentous cyanobacteria characterized by cylindrical, multicellular trichomes in an open left-hand helix. A dietary supplement is made from A. platensis and A. maxima, known as spirulina. The A. maxima and A. platensis species were once classified in the genus Spirulina.
Thalassiosira weissflogii: Unflagellated Diatom: 5-32 microns
Thal is the largest strain of phytoplankton we offer. As a beneficial diatom, this alga consumes silicates, restricting the growth of harmful dinoflagellates and silicates. Cycle time is reduced by adding Thal to your tank!
Add 5ml per 40L 3-4 times per week for the first week. Increase by 2ml each week for three weeks, and then adjust as needed.
- Spot-feed corals and inverts to maximize growth
- Use with Aquatic Live Food’s live copepods, amphipods, rotifers to establish or maintain a healthy zooplankton population in your tank.
- This will be enjoyed by your clean up crew.
- Gradually increase MicroMagic dose to accelerate coral growth and increase copepod populations.
- If stored in the fridge, it will survive for at least 7-10 days
- Do not freeze.
- Shake bottle periodically to prolong useful life.
